A 90-Minute Morning Routine That Will Make You More Productive On A Work Day

If you’ve stepped into your working life, you’re no stranger to 12-hour working days. So after you stay at work until 9 or 10 p.m., force yourself to go home, have a quick dinner, then get back to work and a few hours of sleep… the next day, you get up and you go through it again. One day it moves into the other until you decide you need some balance. The day comes when you may want to make a good impression with work and have time for a satisfying life outside of work. You can start in the morning to change a workday. This 90-minute morning routine will not only change your life, it will also help you experience more meaningful, successful and productive days. Here are 7 steps that can revolutionize your workday so you can do more:

Wake up early

1) Wake Up Early

The early morning routine is very powerful because it allows you to make time for yourself. There is silence in the early hours, and there are very few people who can distract you. Many successful CEO’s, including PepsiCo’s former CEO su, start their business days before 6 p.m., and if you can fill those hours with something meaningful, you’ll find the right mood for your day.

2) Close messages and emails

If you get up first thing in the morning and are hugging your phone to check your Messages, your mind can only switch to reaction mode. When you constantly check your phone, this can cause an increase in your stress level because you feel an urgent need to respond to them. You could lose control of your day before you know it.
Instead of letting others dictate your priorities, give yourself at least an hour to focus away from external distractions. If you’re having difficulty getting off the digital leash, put your phone into plane mode before bed so you won’t be looking forward to checking your messages when you get up in the morning.

Gratitude is a powerful way to get things into perspective. By accepting things that are in your favor, you don’t see things that aren’t in your favor as problematic to you. Say three things you’re grateful for as soon as you wake up to start your day with positive energy.

You already know the importance of setting goals, but reading your goals aloud helps keep your goals on track. Every month, I set 30-day goals and write myself a letter as if I had achieved my goals. I read this letter aloud every morning to remind myself what I’m working for and to lock my brain on target.

Just as your mood determines how your day will go, what you eat for breakfast helps you determine what to eat for the rest of the day. If you start with a healthy breakfast, you are likely to continue this for the rest of the day. I start every day with a Green  fruity drink. Remember: your health is everything to you. She deserves more attention than your e-mails.

6) Take Action

A good morning workout is exhilarating, especially if you have great music or motivational podcasts. I start with Cross Fit in the morning, but running, yoga, weight lifting or brisk walking can also be good for your health and make you more productive.

7) Take Time For Yourself

This may be the most important part of your morning routine. Take some time to be alone and enjoy it. Use this time to read for meditation or to learn something new. Whatever you do, do something you enjoy.
If you’re already too tense and cramped, you probably don’t think you have 90 minutes to spare. But these ingredients are too good to ignore. When you’re happy, energetic and focused, it can do wonders for your business. All you need is 90 minutes to take your company to the next level and live the life you want at the same time.
